Hard Rock Cafe One-For-One Promotion....

yup, more decadent eating.
been out EVERY SINGLE NIGHT this week... eating so much that I just KNOW i'm putting on the pounds.
but really... everyone should check out Hard Rock Cafe behind Forum the shopping mall... they had the one-for-one promotion...
Imagine TWO nydc-worthy desserts worth just 8 bucks total hahaa....
went there for my dad's birthday celebration. even the live band that struck up at nine was good, and I don't normally have a good impression of local bands, if you know me well. High standards and everything. But this band didn't exaggerate their singing or playing.. = pretty ok!

oh yeah I heard about this AC tennis vice-captain? Who's suffering from a virus in her bone marrow. Needs 5 A+ platelet donors a day to survive...
Life's extremely fragile people. We ought never to take it for granted. Those with A+ blood type go call Mrs Rosalind Tan at 90065113.
Also, pray for Elliot, Hong Huei and Debbie, Elliot's got diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease. Pray for the family that they'll find God's peace in this time of trial and testing.

You are Jean Grey!

Beautiful and smart, you are still just beginning
to fulfill your potential. You have a strong
sense of right and wrong, but are open to
discussion and changes of opinion.
Unfortunately, when it comes to love you are
often torn between two options, and can never
seem to make up your mind.

Which X-Men character are you most like?

sigh what i wouldn't give to be her. haa... ",)
my head's so heavy and drugged from the sunshiny weather outside, my grey grey computer monitor and the fact that i need my yearly two-day nap.

i'm glad to say i didn't fall asleep. haha. perhaps i didn't thoroughly enjoy myself, choir always brings out so many mixed feelings in all of us who've actually been there and done that. lots of blood sweat salty tears, yes tears have actually gone into the production of every concert, no one will ever fully understand until you've entered (haha the matrix!) the vortex that is ACJC Choir. whoever reads this with the strong intention of joining, I'd advise you to ask yourself if you're ready to sacrifice your free wednesdays, your entire saturdays, your way of living. haha it IS that serious, or perhaps it's just me.

well. the concert was loooooooong. no doubt about that. the repertoire this year was ultra-heavy as well, with lots of church music. yet it's church music that's the most difficult to sing and perhaps for 'uncultured' people to appreciate. and sitting in the second row literally meant they could see us just as well as we could see them,
so no napping. that didn't stop the girls in front of me from shifting from time to time in order to get the maximum best sleeping position haha =)
having reached home at the drear hour of 12.30 am i didn't bother to unpack my handbag, thus having with me the programme right now.

the beginning segment showed the choir themselves sans alumni... could see they've MUCH improved since their seniors left them, but that's always how it should be. they still had to get into the concert groove though, so in dravidian and magnificent horses it went off-kilter a bit... can thoroughly sympathise. when you sing fast songs like those, your heart beats as fast as the running hooves of the horses you try to emulate. remember to breathe....

alumni was as perfect as ever, singing with utter clarity and precision, fitting together each harmonious (and sometimes deliberately discordant) part with well-oiled efficiency and joy. it was their performance that gave us all the itchy wanting to settle back into the grueling routine. then again i'll need time to think about it.
Ikaw, this Filipino love song, had Mrs Tay and a few other alumni guys as soloists. it was reaaallly moving. made me realise why having a melting voice is perhaps one of my lofty criteria for a boyfriend.... all in favour say aye. hahaaa

indeed, the word most often used in the programme was soundscape. in my mind, no one in Singapore can ever craft music with ever so much devotion and ability as the ACJC Choir. They're really in a class all their own, architects of their music, literally being able to weave imaginary structures in your mind from the sheer range of song they produce. (Yet I hope it doesn't make us complacent or to look down on others.) Once you've been through the two years, you've experienced what it's really like to strive for perfection and actually go near that goal. So much thought into every movement, dynamic and synchronisation has been put into play. Kudos to the madams. It was great.

here i am again in the office, ruminating about how difficult it is to co-exist with colleagues who've chosen to disseminate the philosophies of the matrix reloaded movie right in front of me... sigh. earplugs anyone? =(
THIS is what comes of having friends who play you out... hmph lucas. don't care that you're in field camp, i'm still slagging you off.

well. there's nothing much to speak about, just that i'm encouraging everyone to go visit mindmanna at tudor court, near tanglin mall.
check out their lelong sale man! go to mindmanna to check out their opening times...
i bought 5 christian music CDs for $25 bucks. admittedly 3 were second-hand but 2 were brandnew.
almost all CDs are going for $5, and most books and bibles are going for 50% off! hahaa

oh yeah. i'm going for the AC choir concert tonight as well... hopefully i don't drop off to sleep
those cushy esplanade seats DO make for good napping.

You are CHUNKY MONKEY! You're crazy and full of
life. You tend to see life as a roller coaster,
and you enjoy the loops. You have an extremely
funny personality and you always have to
comment about everything someone says. You are
rarely depressed and are always the root of any
good joke. Good for you!!

fresh 'n fruity simply strawberry yogurt

that's my hurried breakfast this morning.... i'm actually running late for piano
where i shall sweat blood and tears (my own and my teacher's). sigh why i bother...

anyway last night caught a free performance at the amphitheatre outside esplanade
Twelfth Night by Escape Productions or something. Director was Mark Waite, you know
the ang moh teacher in Moulmein High... pretty funny. Julie Wee was there too.
Anyway, don't expect polished acting or singing (except for this good jazz female gendarme)
but it was highly entertaining.

and now lemme go nurse my ulcer. (attained from that silly chocolate bar last night.... sigh)

ah i bemoan the fate of such decadent eating. NOT!

and jovian's LCA tagged along as well. my first roll... i shall put the photos up once i finish them. experiment experiment.
speaking of jov pray for him... he's currently in field camp at the moment, and we females shall never fully comprehend the trial it is.
nuff' said.

yesterday's taekwondo was disastrous.
try going on all fours (ala pushup stance) and move your body crab-like across a long distance... FAST.
warning: do this only if you're utterly bored and wish to strain your muscles spaghetti al dente.
